Coureur des Bois. Warm light behind the bar.

Posted on 21 March 2026 by Marc-André

Brass millwork, cream walls, a bubble chandelier overhead. The Lecce backlit panel sits behind the bar shelving as the light source that ties the room together.

Lecce is from the Lumi-Onyx Alabaster collection. Warm pink-beige banding with fine horizontal striations. Backlit, the warm tones deepen and the panel glows evenly behind the bottles. The effect is ambient rather than theatrical. The room doesn’t announce the panel. The panel just makes the room warmer.

A backlit bar panel works differently from a feature wall. The bottles, the glassware, and the millwork all sit in front of it. The panel doesn’t need to compete. It just needs to hold the warmth behind everything else. Lecce does that without asking for attention.

For designers working on hospitality bars, the brief is often the same: create atmosphere without over-designing it. A single backlit panel behind the shelving does more work than most finishes in the room. It sets the light temperature, anchors the composition, and gives the bar a reason to exist after dark.
